Challenge Cancer - Trans Pennine

Event info
Sun 18/09/2016, 15:55

Four major charities have teamed up and are seeking cyclists of all abilities to ride for them. A few 000' riders will set out to Brighton in the south - or cycle 'Trans Pennine' between Manchester & Leeds in the north. Why not get your bike out, get pedaling, get in shape - and do something special in 2016.
In the UK one in three people will be affected by cancer, and the work for cancer charities stretches from research, early detection, prevention & cure, through to care & support. Join us in September and let's Challenge Cancer together.

Cycle 'Trans Pennine' between 2 great cities. It's 60 miles from Manchester to Leeds OR from Leeds to Manchester! Choose to cycle in either as a Day Ride and we'll all meet up at the half way rest stop for some food and to swap a few stories! For those who want to toughen it up - there's the 120 mile 'There & Back' Ride. A great way to spend a Sunday in September!

The route:

MANCHESTER - Heaton Park start / finish venue
LEEDS - Temple Newsam Park start / finish venue
Wherever you start from - all rides meet up at Keighley, the mid point
Over the Pennines - it's up & down!
As per the Tour de France, cycle over the stunning Ilkley Moor
Tarmac all the way - suitable for all types of bikes.

The support:

Fully signed route, timing chips, route maps, GPS files
Medics, mechanics, massage and full support
FREE food at half way rest stop in Keighley
2 further rest stops en route - FREE snacks & drinks
Medal & glass of bubbly at your finish line
FREE food at the finish - breakfast / brunch / lunch or tea!
