10 speed double chainset with 11 speed chain
Has anyone used a 10 speed double chainset with an 11 speed chain? If so, does it work ok? Need a new chainset but the 11 speed configuration I need - 46/30 170mm - is non-existent in my price range at the moment whereas 10 speed is available. For now...

Same here upgraded rest of drivetrain to 11sp 105 whilst keeping 10sp tiagra chainset.
Yep, I ran a 10speed Ultegra chainset with 11speed 105 gears and no problems. Also ran 11speed chainset with 10speed gears fine too
Works just fine. Running 11 speed Campy components on a 10 speed Chorus chainset with no problems at all.
It's absolutely fine. If anything, it can make changes a little snappier.
