Garmin 520 recharge on the go

Hi all.  I'm doing a long all-day ride in the summer (220 miles) and am trying to find out how I can recharge my Garmin 520 whilst on the move. I don't want to set up a dynamo.  Amny advice gratefully received. Thanks

I got myself one of these for Christmas.

5000mAh power Bank that comes with a mounting bracket for attachment to your bike.

Plenty of juice for your Garmin and doesn't break the bank. It is however a little weighty but it's not too heavy.

I have one of these with the charging lead built in & it works a treat. There's loads of differnt options & some can be had for under a tenner on flea bay

Configure it in power-sipping mode (no backlight, no GLONASS) and it should last you the whole ride.  I did the Majorca 312 with a 520, forgot to charge it, and still had enough charge left to do a 2-hour  recovery ride the next day.

I used a powerbank which was in a bag on the top tube when I did a 200k Audax and it worked pretty well.

The only thing to remember is to get a charge only USB cable (most likely not the one your Garmin came with), otherwise the Garmin will think it is linked to a PC and this can cause issues. These can be picked up online for a few quid.

Have you tried one of the small power packs? Either in your pocket for when you stop or in a Tri type frame bag for on the move
