On Sunday I did 275 miles, though that was on my motorbike from Dumfries back to home.

Did 55 miles yesterday, from home over to the Malvern Hills (to a pub for lunch) then home via Worcester for a cup of tea, and an accidental bit of gardening in my road shoes...

Was forced into a 2 mile stretch of tow path, though my aksiums dont look out of shape today which is a relief.

New headset bearing going in later, and also need to sort a gremlin in the front mech - somtimes the chain doesnt move across far enough to sit on the lower chain ring, usually at the worst possible time when going up hills. Rather annoying. Still, it didnt ruin what was a splendid day.

Went up Tissington and High peak trails fro a metric century. Felt heavy legged though:-(

Amazed how many cyclists were out maybe in many cases first ride of the year - all over the trail they were. But I see it as a positive that pople were out on bikes. Would have gone on road but roads were wet and best bike would have got dirty!

cotswold spring classic was good, it eases you in for about 30km before the sawtooth profile kicks in. no long climbs but they're all really steep, didn't use the granny much but i was glad i had it on one of the climbs 1

after that, a flattish run in for the last 30km. sort of a game of three halves.

the real test is on thurs this week though: 126 miles, a two pointer 19 19 not sure i'll make it to the end though...

The weather permitted and the house didn't explode today so I actually managed to get out and cycle!

A nice 70+ miles taking in a hill I've never ridden before around my way. It was really quite a decent climb and one I'll be visiting again.

I'm hatching a cunning plan to ride the Beacons again next weekend, the missus is bound to be wise to it, she just lets me believe I'm getting away with stuff...

That does sound nice - how long did it take, and what gear were you pushing?

Don't suppose your rode back too? 13

42 x 16t and a very relaxing 3 1/2 hours door to door. Got the Train back because we didn't leave until mid afternoon. I've never actually cycled from Brighton back to London the climbs must be longer but less steep which would suit my single gear. I think I might give it a go next weekend?

I had a pootle down to Brighton from London on my single speed for some fish and chips. Which was nice.

Today was a wash out, it's rained all day and I have been on house repair duties. That's the century out of the window!

I'm hoping for better weather and no more electrical emergencies in the house tomorrow, maybe I'll get to have a descent ride in the morning...

I plan on a metric or possibly an imperial century tomorrow (Sat) and maybe another (metric) on Sunday, then maybe some sort of recovery ride on Monday...

Hopefully the weather will hold out enough to make that a possibility. Also about to do a quick hour on the rollers just to stretch my legs out before popping my cherry (tree).

apart from you and me… and I haven't sorted a bike out yet. Don't think the Cotswolds are natural singlespeed territory
