My recently purchased Giant Defy Advanced 1. Full Ultegra groupset. Have only done 2 rides so far. Extremely happy with it especially at the price I paid for it. A step up from my other bike, Scott Speedster 20.
A question while I am here. Is it worth getting a Garmin Edge 510 or 810 to use with Giant Ridesense? Currently using Edge 200 which is not Ant+

I know, it's facing the wrong way but the groupset isn't worth showing off anyway.

And then my mtb - frame, handlebar and seatpost are the only original parts!

My best bike, a Pegoretti Mxxxxxo I've nicknamed Il Super Laterale.

The paint is custom; I asked Dario to listen to Soundgarden's Superunknown album and Tool's Lateralus, then paint whatever he wanted.

He also added a question to the chainstay. What does an Aussie do in Seattle? Good question.

The groupset is Super Record, with 3T components. Wheels are custom; DT240s laced to Easton SLX90 rims with FMB Competition tubulars.

By some margin this is the best bike I've ridden. It goes as good as it looks; I've podiumed several races. Steel is very much real.

Wow, that is something else. Can't believe you race it though, if it got scratched I'd cry. In fact, I'd cry if yours got scratched, I'd beheartbroken if it was mine! Any chance of some more close ups of the paintwork?

Very nice looking bike! I think I may be persuaded to get those wheels! 1

That's the Fizik PA:K bag, but what size? And have you had any problems with the clip? Seems like a fair amount of grumbling on CRC.

Erm, mine is a (Chinese) Colnago M10, built a (it was featured by me on these very forum pages), Chinarillo a couple of years ago, rode 2500 happy miles on it, and re-sold the frame to a club mate.

So I then re-invested that cash on another Chinese "rip-off" frame from the same supplier as the Chinarillo, but this time I opted for a Colnago M10!!
I then invested a pile of cash into the build, this can then go onto what ever I get next, yes it will be a proper frame next time.....

Its got (real), Sram red group set, Far Sport 38mm carbon hoops, carbon XXX Bontrager stem and bar, 3T seat post, Shimano 105 carbon pedals, Fizik arione saddle and conti gp4000s tyres. It weighs in with pedals at 7Kg on the spot, Ive ridden nearly 2000 miles this spring/summer, it rides fantastic and looks pretty good too in my eyes.

Whatever happened to the 'ole Chinarello' Wheelz? Used to love the updates. 16
I like that M10 rep, seen loads of them on Aliexpress (just shut most of the copy sites down) and especially DHgate in every colourscheme. How does yours handle? (who's the guy)??????

Hi Trikeman

I am interested in purchasing a Planet X Pro Carbon. What height and resultant frame size are you? Did you purchase online or head to Sheffield to try first. Were Planet x okay to deal with.

The 810 is great if you want to use the maps feature properly, the 510 good for everything else but that. Or you could go for the middle ground - the (older) 800 has basically the same functionality as the 810 but without the ability to upload through your phone. Check the mode though - Garmin has introduced some 800 models with no ANT sensors for cadence and HR - you don't want that!

I havent raced it actually. but given it a good old high tempo thrashing and its amazing.

also uprated the fork to a colombus len which was 400g lighter than the original genesis fork

It's the small bag, I carry two tubes, two levers and a multitool. Very tight but it does the job! Had no problem with the clip, works just fine.

Hi, thearchitect
my Planet X is the 44cm S (I'm just on 5'8'') which equates to a 53X53cm if it was a traditional frame set. It took a little getting used to with the low (at rear) top tube but the ride is superb and handles if on rails. I bought this one on line as I couldn't resist it for the money at the time and I had to get back on the road.
If you are buying a complete bike be wary on the Vision Team 30's they come with,,,,,,, in all my days (and that's a long time) around bikes I have NEVER seen tyres so difficult to get off (I just cut the new tyres off) and on, even some tried and tested GP4000's would not go on - they are hideous and I got rid asap. 102

Anyway, back to the bike. For me the PX is a stop gap until I get back to my beloved Colnago's - just waiting for the next frame to come along.
Having said that, as she stands she weighs a decent 16lb dead and is a superb ride in just about every way.

PX were 'OK' to deal with but were a little vague when I first starting to ask questions before purchase, size recommendation was an issue due to the breakpoint between two sizes but in the end I made the decision.

Stick around - if you are about the same size and a decent Colly frame comes along this will be for sale. 20

Hope it helps.

My Shiny new Roubaix, replacing my two month old Hybrid, I am astonished at the difference the bike makes, in terms of speed, manoeuverability, agility etc. Also the workout you get, I never envisaged the demands a road bike makes on your body compared to a straight bar hybrid! Very pleased!

I have a slightly older (2012) version, also in stealth black, which makes it look very classy. Absolutely lovely bike - you'll really enjoy it.

Just joined - first post 103

Here's my 'green machine' Felt AR5 2011. Notable upgrades are Schwalbe Ultremo ZX tyres, 140mm -17deg 3T Arx Pro Stem, Speedplay pedals and Fizik Arione saddle, all of which I recommend! Fairly aggressive, pro-looking position but no comfort issues at all thankfully.

Bought it in mint condition a couple of months ago and it's already bagged its share of fast rides and Strava KOMs! I was a firm disbeliever in marginal aero gains on road bikes but ever since upgrading from an old aluminium Trek 1.2 and starting to wear a Castelli Speedsuit on regular rides, I've felt an advantage too big to ever be a placebo effect...
