A statistical amen!
For full boring 'elf and safety we should also count all injuries without bollards and with. The calculus becomes difficult because those without bollards tend to be very salient KSI with video-worthy crashes, but with you can have many more bumps and bangs of lesser note to vulnerable road users with the bollards.
It also needs this since there are place which on balance it might be worse *with* - generally avoid putting them within cycle infra / in the middle of entrances to same is the rule.
Another "externality of motoring" that's required because mass motoring, but is paid for by everybody...

That reminds me of a cycle lane in Bristol along Clarence Rd (https://maps.app.goo.gl/wMYjd5nDDQ5Fvhie7). They orignally had concrete lumps to protect the lane and then decided to remove them due to the number of cars getting stuck on them.

A similar thing happened in Boston.
Billions of blue blistering bollards!
As Captain Haddock would say.
