Front light for street ride at night

this is a battle.  i need all lumens focused in front of me on the road.  Light & Motion Urbans are perfect but i need alot more lumens.  I've been using three 1000 lumen Urbans but i need more light, in ONE product with seperate battery.  my last candidate was a Gemini Titian 4000...weak light for a "4k" rating, it's not in the Beam Comparison Engine...thanx for any intel!

still working through the info here.  i cannot use a dynamo on my front wheel, Swytch motor there, don't think there is one for the rear.  i am open to a tyre bottle generator or a light with a separate battery...hoping to get THE ONE  for ~$300.00...thanx to all so far!!!

As others have said, it's not about the lumens, it's about the beam pattern and optics. I have a raveman 1200 and I think it's ace. A cut off "dipped" beam for lit roads or oncoming traffic, then a "full" beam for dark roads.

The problem with simple 'torch' style lights is that they put the light in the wrong place. You need a shaped beam to make the road visible. The key thing is beam shape, not output. This article explains why:

If you want a quality battery powered light with a shaped beam, and you don't want to go with a dynamo setup, I'd recommend this:

These should be able to blind any oncoming traffic and help you see without any difficulty. I've had pilots complain when I use these near the local airport.

A helpful reminder that there's a heck of a lot on offer from Mr Amazon - just very little idea of whether it's any good.

I can't see why you would possibly need more than 1000 lumens.

I have a 1000lumen exposure strada and an 800 lumen strada, I find either perfectly fine for descending on unlit roads, and I don't have them set to the highest setting, preferring long burn time.

I can't vouch for it because I don't have one, but if I needed a decent bike light that put light on the road, not in the sky, I be sorely tempted by one of these:

new player!...i like what they do to the beam shape for the road light, i'm seriously doubting the lumen factor however if i could get 2 light pods working on 1 battery pack...that would b a home run.  i only need 40 min. of full power per commute.

By street ride at night do you an urban ride under streetlights? If so do you really need an eyeball melting front light? Be careful not to dazzle other cyclists and drivers regardless

"need"? of course not, "want" is where i feel safer.  i have a Swytch system, i'm moving alot faster.  i've been doing this nightride for 14 years.

Firstly forget about claimed 'lumens' it means nothing when comparing bike lights. If you have an ebike why not get a light designed for one? top of the range here  https://hollandbikeshop.com/en-gb/bicycle-lights/supernova-bicycle-light...  If you want something cheap then there are more powerful emitters coming through in 'torch' type lights, I've got one of these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000730349170.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0... (XHP90 version) to use as a high beam in conjunction with a B&M dip beam. It's much brighter than the normal cree lights you get.
