Mark Cavendish launches CVNDSH clothing range with Specialized

Mark Cavendish collaborates with Specialized on signature clothing range designed with speed in mind

This week in London Mark Cavendish revealed his CVNDSH Collection by Specialized, a range of signature jerseys, shorts, helmets and shoes with a green colour scheme, paying homage to the Tour de France green points jersey. The brand actually launched last year with a Specialized Venge road bike painted in the signature green and black colour scheme.

The range includes two jerseys, bib shorts, a helmet, shoes and socks, plus the Specialized Edition S-Works Venge launched a year ago. While the range appears to be current Specialized products in a new colour with Mark's signature, such as the Evade aero helmet pictured above, Mark insists he was involved with the development of the range.

“The bottom line is that the pieces are just so, so good,” explained Mark. “It isn’t just my name on a jersey because I’ll never do that. I believe in the equipment, I personally helped design them with the team and I believe in the ability they have to help a rider be the fastest they can be."

There's no word on pricing or availability at the time or writing. More info on the range can be seen at  www.specialized.com

He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well. Did Cav ask for all the vowels to be removed to ensure that Specialised wouldn't sue him for having the same name as one of their product ranges?

Haha good point! Saying that, they don't let simple things like words being spelt differently stop them (Allez/Alize), or worry about who had the name first!

The shoes are only a tenner (£20 in some cases) more than their branded equivalent from spesh btw.....a tenners markup on retail is probably reasonable enough tbh. Though I think the spesh shoes are ridiculously priced anyway!

This lack of vowels is like reading Welsh.

Cav is evidently a massive fan of Only Connect (and not just for when V C-M wears something low cut)

My printer was doing the same thing with those green lines all over the page, turns out I needed a new ink cartridge. Problem solved.

XTRMTR by Primal Scream is a great Electro-rock album, worth a listen.

All this makes me wonder whether SKY is really a contraction of something else. Maybe they are actually Team Soakey. They sound a lot more splishy-splashy and fun-loving that way! Go Team Soakey! Leave them sopping!

The spesh/cvndsh site mentions a new Venge on the way soon too.

I like the name CVNDSH... it means you can customise your choice of vowels. I think Civondash is my favourite.

It's just the noise that he makes as he hurtles past everyone else in a sprint finish!

that's got to be the biggest anti climax to a 'signature' collection I've ever seen. "green colour scheme".... well, I've heard less is more but that is ridiculous as I'm sure the price will be 13

Bets that within 5 years he's on some form of reality TV program?

How do you actually pronounce 'CVNDSH'? Are all the vowels missing to save weight or to improve aero performance?
