Heh. Brill.
Oh hush and just take my money.
Another vote for the in-car window sticker here. I don't want to stick adhesive to the paintwork on my gas-guzzling penis replacement. (I'm not being sarcastic)
Wait a minute, you need to sort out the syntax there. Shouldn't awesome be capitalised for visual impact? Otherwise I would be too busy tut-tutting the sign not to fall and scrape my bar-end all down your van. (I am being pedantic)
Link forwarded to the cycle safety team and transport infrastructure team at my local council.
Transport for London has now begun to see sense on this matter, see http://rdrf.org.uk/2014/06/26/transport-for-london-sees-sense-at-last-ov...
Agree with Farrell, a window sticker would be great, don't want to risk putting one of the paintwork
Would definitely buy a window sticker. Sticking something on the company car is otherwise a no-no.
@Wolfshade - I'd have a few of those!
I think I'll see if the local sign maker will make some
CYCLIST!
Pass WIDE
Pass SLOW
Unless Road.cc want to offer this version?
My previous post appears to have been sensible and helpful, so can I change my request to:
DO YOU EVEN SCOFFLAW, BRO?
I support the idea of issuing them as car stickers! I've ordered 10 but I anticipate Space for Cycling Sheffield may want a couple of 100 over the next year: discounts for bulk?
Make an English version saying "Stay Amazing" and I'll buy some. I cannot abide "awesome".
Hey, Dave, you need to bump up "Implement an 'unlike' button" on your priority list
I've got a 'Cyclists: Stay Classy' A4 sticker on the back of my bike child seat. I used letters from another Stay Back sticker so I was limited in the letters available. Still, less American than "awesome", even if "Stay classy" is an Anchorman catchphrase.
What can you not abide about Awesome? Is it the Awe or the addition of Some? If I presume correctly and it's the Some, how do you feel about a word like Handsome? Do you find that sort of language Irksome or positively Winsome? I don't mean to come over as Meddlesome, I really do want to know.
Origin of the word, according to OED, late 16th century, so about the time Shakespeare (or the Earl of Oxford or whoever) was starting to put quill to parchment, and long before any colonies were founded over there.
There are a lot of things people presume are "Americanisms" that started here but fell out of use in British English
Adjective;
extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring awe."the awesome power of the atomic bomb".
Synonyms:breathtaking, amazing, stunning,
astounding,astonishing, awe-inspiring, stupendous,staggering, extraordinary, incredible,unbelievable;
So long as you don't put "totally" in front of "awesome", I think it is totally awesome. As a window sticker.

I agree. 'Awesome' is a 'superlative', it's an extreme that can hardly be gone beyond, inspiring awe, daunting, like God, say. Now it seems to have been transformed into something like 'good'. I have actually heard someone say 'awesome crisps'. Pathetic. Why do you want to copy the language of American teenagers?
Unfortunately, I have now spent my lunch break apeing all sorts of "cyclist danger" stickers
It would be nice to have the A5 ones being done as window stickers for putting in cars if that is possible.
"Cyclist on board"?!
duly noted
+1
Yep, if you could do the smaller so as to stick on the inside of a car window then I'd have a couple.
I'd love a version of this I could put on my commuting rucksack please. I don't have a car to stick one to!
I can't for the life of me think where a bunch of these may end up...
They're waterproof vinyl, and quite sticky but they shouldn't tear when you remove them
Chapeau!
On a practical note, are they waterproof and can they be removed again without trashing the paintwork/leaving old glue on the paint?
