Cotty takes on Gran Canaria

… he'll probably win too...

Mike Cotty a man who seems to spend his life either riding etapes, gran fondos and the like or getting himself filmed recceing them has taken time out of his busy schedule (well, winter is closing in on the high mountains) to go and beat himself up on a bike somewhere else.

Don't feel too sorry for him, actually there's no need to feel sorry for him at all, cos he's escaped the winter rain, wind and snow with a tackling the roads of Gran Canaria - he's even found time to post a very entertaining daily diary and take the odd snap… yep it sounds soooo tough.

Anyway you can follow his progress by reading his Gran Canaria diaries and console yourself with the thought that he's only got a day or so left.

road.cc's founder and first editor, nowadays to be found riding a spreadsheet. Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.
