Grand tour themed glasses to celebrate youngest ever rider to do the triple

When it comes to grand tours Alberto Contador is THE MAN these days, as Lance and Ivan will surely find out come the summer. So what better way to celebrate the youngest man to win all three tours than by a set of commemorative glasses?… sunglasses.

Well, no better way if you happen to be a maker of the top end glasses he wears. So Giro have brought out a limited edition range of 500 pairs of their Havik glasses – and that's 500 worldwide. The glasses are available in each of the celebrated colours that represent the leader’s jersey for those iconic races so we're assuming that means there's 500 of each colour rather than 500 in total.

Yellow frame with grey lens – Tour de France
Pink frame with rose silver standard lens – Giro d’Italia
Gold frame brown bronze full lens – Vuelta a España

According to the press release “The Havik’s sculptural Super Fit™ frame offer a comfortable, secure fit with helmets and is matched to an exclusive 7-base ZEISS™ lens that offers a wide-open field-of-view and exceptionally clear vision that riders like Alberto have come to love. A soft rubber nose pad and sleek temple tips position the Havik perfectly on your face, and deliver an amazing fit for true all-day comfort.” So there you have it. Okay, you won't actually “have it” until you cough up £139.99… come on, Alberto's worth it and you could match them up with your limited edition Astana helmet.

If you're feeling flush after Christmas the limited edition Haviks are available now. While stocks last.
