Video: Dragon Ride places go on sale 14 September

Huge demand expected once again for popular ride in Wales

One of Britain’s most popular sportives, the Dragon Ride, will return next June – but if you want to take part, you’d better be quick when booking opens next month.

Last year, demand for places caused the website of organisers Human Race to crash when places went on sale.

Places on next year’s edition, which is held on 5 June 2016, go on sale on at 9am on Monday 14 September and you can register your interest through a link on the event’s website here.

The website had full details of the event – including the three-day Dragon Tour, and a new 100km distance in support of MacMillan.

Here’s some highlights of this year’s event to show you what to expect.

Simon joined road.cc as news editor in 2009 and is now the site’s community editor, acting as a link between the team producing the content and our readers. A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.
