Sports celebs go head to head on rollers…

… but kids steal the Rollapaluza show at Revolution 23

Olympic sprinter Iwan Thomas took on rugby league legend Denis Betts on the Rollapaluza rollers at Revolution 23 this weekend. Betts might have been saving his legs for the Italian pursuit later that evening because Thomas, now hosting Channel 4's new sports show 4sport, put a second into him over 500m.

That was before the doors for Revolution 23 opened and just as well or they would never have got on what with the hordes of kids eager to test themselves on the Rollapaluz rig.

Thomas's performance was enough to bag him second place in the mens' competition behind 14 year old Matt Rotherham – who also won the competition last time the rollers visited Revolution.

12 year-old Dylan Kerfoot-Robson won the boys competition in a time of 12.37 secs and a speed of 45.5mph while 13 year-old Emily Barnes was top girl with a winning time of 13.47 secs and a speed of 41.8mph.
