Weekend Rides Roundup

Weather looking lovely this weekend; you should be riding

Doesn't matter which weather forecast you look at or where you are in the UK, there seems to be unprecedented amounts of sun and blue sky on the agenda. Which means we will be packing a fold-up rain jacket for insurance but who knows?

Bristol is first up in our weekend roundup and the Mudstock Festival is happening at Mud Dock Café and Cycleworks in Bristol over Saturday and Sunday. There will be Trek, Scott, Felt, Santa Cruz, Sunn and Cannondale demo rides, talks and group rides and star attractions including Simon Richardson of the Sigma Sport/Specialized team and Tom Southam of Rapha/Condor/Sharp. On Saturday only, slightly older cyclists will remember multiple National Champion at cyclo-cross and XC Nick Craig, who now rides for Scott Sports and is talking about his racing career.

At St Ives, Cambridgeshire, the Richardson Rumble Sportive on Sunday 11th April will be offering 100 mile and 100 Km options complete with marshals, route marking and food both on the way and at the finish. About last year's first running of this event, organiser Graham Temple from Wheels in Wheels Events says, “All the riders really enjoyed the event and were somewhat surprised to find that even without big hills you can still have a challenging day out in Cambridgeshire.” No hills sounds good to us.

Finally, in Woking, Surrey, the Evans Ride-It Sportive on Sunday is now full so there can't be any entries on the line but Evans are keen to point out that there are still places on the Saturday 10th mountain bike rides if you fancy a choice of 15, 25 or 30-mile off road routes. Maybe your last chance for the cross bike this season?

Have a good weekend and don't forget Paris-Roubaix on Eurosport

That's the Blenheim Sportive in the picture - which isn't on this weekend, but it does look suitably inspiring 1
