We hope your wallets are ready, because it's that time of year again. Black Friday week is upon us.
The DealCatcher will be bringing you some of the best road cycling deals out there every day this week, so keep an eye out for the Black Friday DealCatcher logo, which will undoubtedly be adorning plenty of pictures that fly through your news feed over the coming days.
We start the week over at Evans Cycles, Decathlon, and Vanilla Bikes, where the deals have started early.
We've got a deal on a Cannondale CAAD8 2015 model, a fantastic BTwin waterproof jacket at half price, and a pair of hugely discounted Campagnolo Clincher wheels.
Evans Cycles
Cannondale's CAAD8 offers incredible racing value at its full price, so with Evans's 35% discount, the value should be far too much to refuse, especially if you're in the market for a new set of wheels.
We reviewed a CAAD8 back in 2012 and fell in love. Our reviewer Iwein gave the machine an incredible 9/10.
Ready and raring to race, this 6061 alloy frame is equipped with Shimano's Tiagra groupset, Maddux's RS 3.0 wheelset, and a pair of WellGo Clip and Strap pedals.
Decathlon
It's no secret that we're big fans of Decathlon's BTwin range. Whether it's clothing, saddle bags, or their almost unbelievably good value Triban 500SE road bike, we love what they do - especially for the price.
And it's the price that we're focusing on here.
We reviewed this 700 waterproof jacket back in October last year. It would fair to say that it didn't stray too far from the BTwin bunch - it racked up a reasonable 9/10 score from our man Dave Atkinson.
You can read that review below. Remember though, that review was written when the jacket cost £59.99 rather than £29.99. Unbelievable.
Vanilla Bikes
Finally, with the emergence of affordable carbon, wheelsets have seen some of the biggest changes - and not all of them positive.
Braking has been an issue, as carbon fibre is not the most resilient to the stresses and strains of braking, nor does it provide a great deal of resistance. The result is severely impacted braking times, which is no good for safety.
Fortunately, the guys over at Campagnolo have been busy addressing this problem. The result is here.
The spiral groove on the braking track of the Shamal Mille means that you'll get all the resistance you'll need to stop efficiently, while reaping all the benefits of lightweight wheels.
Plus, they're dead cheap over at Vanilla Bikes.
The small frame, the aggressive posture, lots of standover height.
