Who should sponsor the Tour of Britain?

Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour seek new title sponsor

The organisers of the Tour of Britain and the Women’s Tour are seeking a new title sponsor for both events after Aviva announced that its involvement would come to an end following this year’s Women’s Tour in June.

Hugh Roberts, chief executive of organisers SweetSpot Group said both races had gone from strength to strength during the two-year partnership with Aviva.

"An exciting opportunity now exists for a new title sponsor to partner with us and take Britain's premier men's road cycling event to a new level. The future of cycling is bright and this year promises to be tremendous with the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympics and the launch of the UCI's Women's World Tour.

"The Tour of Britain and The Women's Tour are iconic British sporting events with global reach offering an unparalleled platform for our sponsors. We are confident that the proposition is extremely attractive for potential partners committed to growing these world-class events going forwards.”

The Aviva Women's Tour takes place from June 15 to 19. It will be the only multi-day race in the UK on the new UCI Women's WorldTour calendar and one of just three such events in Europe. The 2016 Tour of Britain – the UK's highest ranked professional stage race and the country's largest free-to-watch sporting event – will take place from September 4 to 11. Routes for both events are to be unveiled next month.

Here at road.cc, we’d be interested to hear who you think should sponsor the races?
