Kickr ‘experience stations’ installed in top bicycle retailers

Kickr turbo trainers set up with Zwift to give consumers a taste of how indoor training can be

A dozen UK bike shops have had Kickr ‘experience stations’ installed. The in-store system will allow consumers to try out Wahoo Fitness’s Kickr turbo trainer in harness with Zwift, the indoor training software which allows you to ride in a virtual world.

“Wahoo is committed to expanding indoor bike training,” said Chip Hawkins, CEO of Wahoo Fitness. “Establishing a network of Kickr experience stations in top dealers allows us to increase consumer awareness while reinforcing independent bike dealers as the go-to destination for Wahoo Kickr and Snap products.”

The firm says that having the experience stations in leading retailers means people will get the input of experienced, knowledgeable staff when they’re looking to make a purchase.

You can find the nearest experience station via this store locator.

The Kickr Snap is Wahoo’s more affordable smart trainer. The firm also produces the Kickr direct trainer, which is used by Team Sky, and which is claimed to be the quietest direct drive trainer on the market.

Zwift is essentially a massive multiplayer online game connected to your turbo where your performance is governed by your own athletic ability. The program is increasingly popular as a means of making indoor training more interesting.

Here’s our guide to how to get started with Zwift.

never mind the nearest 2 'top bicycle retailers' after that are in Oundle and Swindon - you might need a cafe stop on that journey.

Apparently there are no top dealers north of Manchester...
