Greg van Avermaet uploads Nieuwsblad-winning ride to Strava - and the kudos floods in

Olympic road champion's gold-medal winning ride at Rio got most kudos of all activities uploaded to Strava last year...

Greg van Avermaet won the opening race of Classics season on Saturday, the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad - and the post of his winning ride on Strava has earned him kudos from more than 3,000 of his followers on the social network.

The BMC Racing rider held off world champion Peter Sagan of Bora-Hansgrohe to win - watch his bizarre post-race interview here - with Sep Vanmarcke of Cannondale-Drapac third.

The ride that gained the most kudos worldwide among Strava users last year was also one uploaded by van Avermaet - his gold-medal winning ride at the Rio Olympic Games.
