New sponsor for Cycling Development North West

Maxgear.co.uk to sponsor league races

Cycling Development North West (CDNW) has announced a new sponsorship deal for its North West race leagues. The title sponsor for the 2009 season will be  maxgear.co.uk.

Interestingly they will be sponsored by a company which doesn't yet operate in the UK. Max is a new brand which will launch in to the British cycling market in the Spring and is located in the North-West of England.

According to the company when it does get here Max will offer cycling products direct to the consumer which provide maximum performance and maximum value. The product range includes accessories and clothing which will be on sale from 27 April 2009.

The Max brand's sponsorship program also includes sponsorship of two pro Continental teams and a number of grass roots teams in the UK.

About Cycling Development North West

Cycling Development North West (C.D.N.W.) was originally formed to examine the racing possibilities at Preston Sports Arena. The Organisation is an affiliation of more than 30 cycling clubs which promotes road and closed circuit events for all categories of riders in every part of the North West Region and coaching opportunities for those who are qualified.

C.D.N.W. is also working with Volunteer bodies to encourage participation in the sport from all sections of the community.

Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. He launched his first cycling website - the Cycling Plus Forum at the turn of the century. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.
