DHL driver denies causing cyclist's death by careless driving

Also charged with failing to stop

A DHL driver has denied causing the death of a 72-year-old Suffolk cyclist by careless driving on November 29 last year. Mark Tuffs has also been charged with failing to stop after an accident and failing to report the accident which led to the death of Colin Taylor at Hitcham, near Bildeston.

The East Anglian Daily Times reports that Taylor was cycling along Finborough Road when the incident took place in the early afternoon.

The retired council worker was said to have been catapulted from his bike into a ditch and despite attempts to save his life by a passing motorist, he died at the scene.

The driver of the lorry is alleged to have carried on travelling in the direction of Bildeston.

Tuffs is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on August 21.
