Rapha aim to get more people cycling and announce packed summer schedule

The British cycling apparel brand are organising weekly rideouts, workshops and even wine-tasting from their Manchester and London clubhouses this summer, with something for everyone in the packed schedule

While Rapha are already well known for their quality cycling apparel, the brand are looking to give back by encouraging more people to ride this summer... and have a whole host of events and organised rides from their Manchester and London clubhouses planned to get everyone on their bikes.

Rapha believe that cycling will not only help you to tune out of all the distractions of modern life, but it also reduces emissions and generally makes for a happier and healthier population... we can't argue with that! Rapha's founder and CEO Simon Motram says: "Riding on my own or with others I find moments of perfect experience that make the ordinary extraordinary, that transform my daily life into something suddenly unforgettable."

...with this in mind, Rapha have organised a whole host of rides and events so others can feel the benefits of getting on their bikes regularly. At Rapha's Manchester clubhouse, the rides have increased to five a week: Tuesday tempos, Sunday long steadies, women-only and beginner rides amongst others mean there's something for everyone of all abilities.
The events schedule kicks off on July 4th, with a social at the clubhouse where you can meet up with other cycling fans over coffee and cake. On July 10th there's a gears and brakes workshop to save you some cash on repairs, and on the 18th there's even a Tour de France-themed wine tasting event (we'd definitely recommend partaking in this post-ride!)

Rapha's London Clubhouses are located in Soho and Spitalfields. Repair workshops, beginner's skills series and socials are taking place throughout the month of July, plus the launch of Rapha's How to Get Started in Cycling handbook will take place in Soho on July 25th. Social rides of 75-80km at a leisurely pace depart from Soho on Saturday and Spitalfields on Sunday, with loads more rides taking place throughout the week.

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.
