Another week, another mega road.cc Facebook giveaway... and this time we've got five HideMyBell mounts to give away, all with a limited edition emblem to celebrate 10 years of road.cc!

HideMyBell is a handy little gadget that incorporates a loud and proud bell into an out-front mount. It has adapters for all the major GPS brands, a GoPro mount and the bell rings out at 85 dB. These commemorative road.cc 10th anniversary are strictly limited edition, so to be in with the chance to own one get liking now. The competition closes on Thursday 8th November at 12 noon, after which we will pick our winners at random and message them through Facebook to arrange delivery.

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.

Thank you - confirms my view of it being awkward. Even a quote from a road.cc review -“because it's mounted upside down you need to pull the ringer up to ding it, which isn't as intuitive as pushing it down, and because it's out front it means taking a hand off the bar to ring it, or at least moving your hand to near the stem and flicking it with your finger”.

Another refusenik here, so won’t be entering this competition. Curious as to how the bell is operated - does one have to grope for the actuator under the mount point? If so, doesn’t strike (sorry!) me as terribly convenient.
I like the mount but, like ~30% of your readers*, I don't touch facebook and feel excluded.
* based on the proportion of the general population that decline to use facebook.
I like to think road.cc readers are more sensible than average, and therefore the proportion is higher.
Oh I like that idea, and road.cc too!
