First look: Tifosi x Campagnolo Mons with Super Record

This special edition Mons frame with Campagnolo livery was built to show off the best of the Italian brand's components, with stock versions of the Mons frames available to customise with various Campag builds.....

Usually on road.cc we'll follow up a first look feature with a full review... and although you won't actually be able to by this bike with its exact livery pictured, we thought the special edition Tifosi x Campagnolo Mons frame with Bora WTO deep rims and a full Super Record Groupset was way too pretty not to share.

You can't actually buy this bike with the Campagnolo-branded frameset; although you can buy a Tifosi Mons frames in stock colours with exactly the same spec, or switch up the spec to your liking/budget by buying from the various retailers who carry Campag components and Tifosi bikes. As Tifosi's distributor told us: The Campagnolo Mons is not for sale, it's a test bike that is designed for customers to test Campagnolo 12 speed systems and from that, can enjoy a 25% discount on various groupset/wheel combination packages from Campagnolo Pro Shop Dealers.

"There is no difference between the standard Tifosi Mons frame and this one other than the paint scheme - if they really wanted that same ride setup, we at Tifosi really love to push that customising element of our bikes, so can very easily build the same bike as the test model."

The Mons in renowned for its lightness, with a modded version unveiled in 2017 weighing in at just 4.6kg. The test bike tips the scales at 6.84kg, and that's with inner tubes and an 11-32 cassette; the WTO wheels are tubeless ready and Campag also do a 11-29 12-speed cassette, so the weight could be trimmed further.

The groupset is the mechanical, rim brake version of Campagnolo Super Record (the electronic version was launched a couple of months back) and the rims are Campag's new 60mm deep Bora WTO's. Here's the full spec list:

The standard Mons in the exact spec above would come in at £7,349.99 - but if you buy from one of the Campagnolo dealers who has bought into the demo bike scheme, all the Campag components on that bike will be subject to a 25% discount - bringing it down to £5999.99.

Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.
