Police in Suffolk have arrested a driver who was being sought by the Metropolitan Police Service for allegedly running over a cyclist in London.
Officers from the Norfolk and Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team said on Twitter that the man had been stopped this morning on the dual carriageway A11 at Barton Mills.
The village in north west Suffolk lies around halfway between Newmarket and Thetford on the A11.
“A vehicle was stopped by RAPT on the A11 at Barton Mills this morning,” police said.
“The driver was wanted by Met Police for a serious assault where it's alleged that he had run over a cyclist.
“The driver has been arrested on suspicion of GBH,” they added.
There was no mention of when the alleged incident in London took place, nor were further details provided of that incident.
