Liverpool Cycle for Health gets people back in the saddle after a break

Free sessions include bike hire and chance to make friends

If you live in Liverpool and you've been inspired to get back on your bike by Wiggins' Tour win or Laura Trott's Olympic successes, there's a free confidence-boosting session available courtesy of Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust.

Gavin McLaughlin, Development Officer for Cycle for Health says: “Although most people cycle when they are young, often they lose the habit as they get older. At Cycle for Health, we want to help more people get back into cycling because it’s a really easy sport to take up and it’s also great fun.”

“Our Cycle for Health sessions are a great opportunity for people of all ages to have a go at getting back on the saddle. The sessions run throughout the week, are completely free of charge and last for about 1 ½ – 2 hours each. We also hire out bikes and all of the equipment free of charge too.”

Users of the service can either take one booster session to get them back on two wheels, or visit on a regular basis to take part in group rides and meet new people.

For more information or to take part, contact Jeanette Smith, Cycle for Health Administrator on 0151 285 4975 or email jeanette.smith [at] liverpoolch.nhs.uk
