Six Days of Ghent + video

Get a flavour of the famous Belgian track event

Wheels brand FFWD have put together a short video of the Six Days of Ghent track race that finished earlier in the week (it ran 22-27 November).

The Belgian event, contested in teams of two since 1922, was this year won by Iljo Keiss of Belgium and Glenn O”Shea of Australia.

This vid features an interview with Keiss who talks about getting ready for racing at night, and it gives a flavour of both the racing and the unique beer-fuelled atmosphere.

Over the six days, the riders cover 870km (544 miles)... which is a helluva lot of times around a 166m track.

Warning: contains scenes of Belgians singing.
