Fox News meltdown as Joe Biden goes for a bike ride

Donald Trump's son Eric appeared on the TV channel to blast the President for "riding a beach cruiser" despite threat of "world war three"...

Right-wing American media outlet Fox News unleashed criticism on President Joe Biden for going on a bike ride on the same day that Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a potential "third world war."

Asking why "Biden goes for bike ride at the beach as Ukraine president warns of 'third world war'", the news channel interviewed Donald Trump's son, Eric, with the banner 'confronting foreign aggression, Biden fails where Trump succeeds' on-screen.

Trump's second eldest son launched into a rant about the current President, saying: "Here you have Biden riding this beach cruiser, it's got this big, ridiculous reflector on the front and it may as well have had a horn on there.

"He's riding slowly, he's probably going to get ice cream. Literally in a world where you almost have world war three, all the problems domestically, and the guy's literally riding a beach cruiser around the place. My father would be giving speeches in front of F-35s..."

"When you see a guy riding a beach cruiser, in the middle of the day. This is the Commander in Chief of the United States of America — what message does that send the world?"

The media meltdown continued despite the news Biden will travel to Poland on Friday to discuss the international response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

It came after Biden was spotted riding a bicycle at Gordons Pond State Park in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Sunday.

Right-wing news and opinion website The Daily Caller, founded by Fox News ranter Tucker Carlson, ran a story headlined: 'Biden Takes Bike Ride At The Beach As War Rages In Ukraine'.

Last month, Fox News talk show host Sean Hannity accused the President of "fleeing the White House" after departing for Delaware against a backdrop of Russian troops advancing across Ukraine.

It is not the first time Biden's choice of exercise has unleashed Fox News vitriol.

In September, one of the news channel's pundits slammed the President for going on a bike ride – but ignored the hundreds of golfing trips Donald Trump took in office.

"That is why his handlers and his wife, who by the way look increasingly like visiting angels, have to schedule in these senior breaks for him so he can take naps and go for bike rides because he can't concentrate on the job the way he should," Rachel Campos-Duffy, whose husband is a former Republican Congressman, said.

"I mean, just compare it to President Donald Trump," she said, ignoring the more than 300 times that Trump is believed to have visited golf courses while in office.

"[Trump] worked these long, long hours and had impromptu hour-long pressers with the media," she claimed.

The true colours of this Website are pretty clear, it's not actually news, just Left wing narrative and clickbait. The 'Fox news goes into frenzy' is your narrative, anything aniti-Trump you can find, not the amazing fact that an 80 year old man aka 'the Big guy' with questionable mental acuity actually rode a bike in his home town.

Hopefully no one mentions the fact that Hunter Biden's laptop is real, and the media tried so hard to deny its existence providing disinformation, or the Big Tech censorship of this story that occurred, and how it swung the election of Sleepy Joe Biden. Castigate Trump all you like, but be honest for once and admit that you willingly drive the narrative to your readers by posting this story.

Hunter Biden meanwhile has been receiving $50,000 a month from a Ukranian eneergy company for introducing them to his father, then demanded the Ukraine Prosecutor General be sacked (for trying to introduce tax legislation which would have impacted Biden's Ukranian friends), withholding a $1B loan guarantee to Ukraine from the USA as ransom, then accepted $10m from the Chinese for "introductions", his 10% stake in Chinese private equity co. BHR which is also partly owned by the CCP, etc.

But hey, sure Trump is bad mkay...

This website is about cycling. Take your focus on US politics somewhere else.

Is that directed to Dan Alexander, or the Editor..?

You're right, you're absolutely right. I suggest that you treat this site with the contempt it deserves by buggering off and never commenting on it again, that'll show 'em.

You are making a case that Hunter Biden has been playing with matches whilst conveniently ignoring that Big Don is a serial arsonist.

I guess he should have gone to the golf course instead. That was apparently acceptible in times of crisis for a president, eh Donny?

I don't think there's anything particularly left-wing about this website (in terms of content) unless you regard being pro-cycling as inherently left-wing, whereas Fox News is avowedly right-wing, having been established by Rupert Murdoch to appeal to a conservative audience and employing almost exclusively right-wing reporters and commentators.

People see what they want to see, Rendel.

They tell you that you meant what they think you meant. And no amount of effort will change their minds.

There is a great demo on how it has controlled the narrative of other news studios as well.

Plenty of articles from The Guardian quoted on this website. Never seen it referred to as a left-wing publication in the opening sentence....

The Graunida is a reasonably respectable news source and it doesn't hide articles behind a paywall, so it's a preferred source. There's been people linking to Telegraph or Times articles, but then most people won't be paying for a subscription and can't read them.

You may also note that a lot of the linked articles are factually based rather than opinion pieces (which are likely to be biased and not particularly useful to link to).

Which news source do you think that people should be linking to that has a high degree of credibility and is not behind a paywall?

(You may also note that reality has a distinctly left-wing bias)

Sorry, Mark, a lot of that might be down to me

I personally do tend a bit left-wing, ish, and I read the Grauniad which is my first port of call for 'vaguely cycling related stuff in the msm'.

And plenty of articles from The Telegraph and The Times as well, which aren't referred to as right-wing publications - hell, even the Daily Mail is often referenced without being called a right-wing publication.

To be fair, I think the Daily Mail is usually referenced with a warning for being made up shit, but you don't have to be a lefty to object to that particular publication.

Are you conflating right-wing with racism and slavery? (Or at least left-wing with opposing racism and slavery)

Of course there's a point (and you know it). I said this site was left wing. Others said it isn't. Why then, did they feel the need to post a picture that has absolutely nothing to do with cycling, other than to make a political/virtue signalling point?

You know you don't have to be rabid left wing to throw shade at slave traders?

"You know you don't have to be rabid left wing to throw shade at slave traders?"

You know what, you're right. Even though I lean to the right of centre, I'll use this forum to publicly denounce the African slave traders that sold millions of their fellow countrymen into slavery. It was a shameful practice, but then so too was the enslavement of the Irish by the Vikings, the British by the Romans, the millions of white slaves owned by Arabs long after the enslavement of Africans had ended in Europe and America etc.

Obviously you don't need a history lesson, but will you join me in my denouncement? "Throw some shade" as you say?

Wow. There's quite a lot of silly whataboutery on this forum at times, some of it perpetrated by me, but I never thought to see something quite that stupid.
