" It might come as a surprise that the world famous Triumph motorbike manufacturers started out life making bicycles over 130 years ago "

Certainly a surprise to me. John Bloor only bought the Triumph name in 1983. Triumph Engineering effectively disappeared in the 70's after BSA, then NVT folded up.

"Triumph Cycle Co were a different thing to Triumph Motorcycles"

There are now and have been for some time but they were they same company at one time. However Raleigh bought the Triumph cycle brand name and continued to use it for bicycles. I supose this leads to thinking where an E-bike sits. Is it more akin to a motorcycle as it has a motor, or a pedal cycle as it has pedals? smiley

I have a Triumph bicycle built in 1964 and I think it's my favourite bike, despite also being the most objectively terrible bike I own too.
