Motorex Bike Shine Hi Protecting Formula is the answer to busy riders' prayers, extending intervals between bucket washes.
On the face of things, there's nothing particular about the ingredients, essentially we've a silicone product and solvent carrier but the Swiss brand's years of petrochemical experience ensures a glossy, dirt-repelling sheen.
In common with most aerosol products, the solvent component serves to keep the mixture sprayable, while powerful cleaning agents prime the host surface.
Road bikes with a light, grimy film can pass straight to the beautifying stage but salt and mud encrusted ones need proper bucket washes. Remember to rinse all bikes in cold water first, since warm sudsy stuff will only accelerate salt's corrosive effect.
Having dried everything thoroughly use a fresh, clean rag or microfibre cloth, give the can a thirty-second shake, apply in short bursts to your cloth before whizzing round the bike. This method prevents waste and more importantly, contamination of braking surfaces/contact points. Allow a minute's curing time and then buff effortlessly for that showroom effect.
Having previously used this product, I've been extremely impressed by its dirt and dust repellent properties. Two coats offer optimal protection from UV rays, while targeted application will remove light, localised oxidisation from enamels, polished and plated surfaces.
Unlike most silicone preps, I got a good three weeks out of every treatment. Alas, 'cross and mountain bikes will still demand post ride clean ups but it makes the job considerably easier.
Objectively, several tins of good quality beeswax furniture polish can be had for the same money and will do much the same job but demand more frequent application to achieve the same effect.

Spray BIKE SHINE on parts to be polished. Polish with a soft cloth if desired. Do not spray on brakes!
Good quality furniture polishes aren't so longlived but achieve similar effect for considerably less outlay.
