At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

This Craft Active bike Logo jersey is a classic race jersey that comes highly recommended for summer runs.

If you've watched pro cycling in recent years you've probably seen Craft's kit in action. They're currently the chaps covering Fabian Cancellara's modesty and I'm sure the King of the Classics doesn't wear any old schmutter.

One of the joys of cycling is that high quality kit is readily available to the likes of you and me, for a not unreasonable price and this classically styled Logo jersey is a fine example of that.

Our test jersey came in a fetching shade of blue with some nice details, like the white capped sleeves with subtle Craft logos and the white side panels, which help flatter the fuller figured gentleman. The fit is proper racing snug, as I pulled the two halves together to do up the full-length zip I did wonder if I'd need a bigger size. However, once on it feels comfy without being too restrictive, perhaps down to the 'ergonomic construction' that Craft boast. The sleeves in particular are cut for skinnier chaps than me and I wouldn't fancy wearing this jersey over a long sleeve base layer, you would really feel the extra bulk under a jersey cut this slim. It certainly feels like a jersey that should be worn on warm summer blasts on the best road bike.

All of the standard features are present and correct - three open rear pockets and one with a zip for valuables. A full length zip makes life so much easier on pit-stops and if you undo it on sportive climbs you'll look dead pro and impress the chicks. Chicks love middle-aged blokes wearing unzipped jerseys.

The fabric feels soft and wicks well. Craft don't make a big deal of the fabric, so I'd guess it's a basic (but still technical) polyester. It also shares a trait with the Craft AB Classic jersey I tested last year, namely that it tends to whiff after just one ride, no matter how short. If this was being pitched as a jersey for touring then I might be more critical about this, but it isn't, so I won't.

Overall this is a very nice, well made jersey that will be getting a regular outing on sunny days throughout summer.

Verdict

Slim-cut racing jersey that full figured non-racers can get away with. Perfect for sunny blasts.

It's a racing cut, but feels comfortable even on a larger chap and the style flatters.

If that's Liam in the pics the poor lad clearly needs a pie.
