Ritchey have unveiled a 2018 Heritage Edition of their Road Logic frameset, with a red, white and blue faded paint scheme. Just 100 of them are available and they're "destined to become a collector's item", say Ritchey.

According to their marketing manager Jeff Lockwood, Ritchey receive requests to produce framesets in these colours weekly, so now they've duly obliged: "The chorus of demand has grown to the point where we decided it was time to bring this aesthetic to our Road Logic road bike," says Lockwood.
The frameset is the exact same as Ritchey's standard Road Logic frame in the Skyline Blue colour, with heat-treated and triple-butted Ritchey Logic tubing, 68mm English threaded bottom bracket and aggressively short-butted sections for weight saving and improved ride quality. It can take up to 30c tyres, and you also get Ritchey's WCS carbon road fork as part of the frameset.
The 2018 Heritage Edition Road Logic frameset is priced at £1,199, and available to buy now with delivery set for mid-March. You can enquire or reserve one by visiting your local Ritchey dealer.
Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.

Agreed on fixed being better for climbing - IF you're still within your gear. When you ride fixed, you'll get used to quite wide a range of cadence...
