If you’re new to gravel riding, our dedicated loop is a good place to start because it’s well drained and well signposted. The road surfaces are quite sandy in parts but mostly stoney and always solid. The variety makes things exciting!

You get some climbing and descending along with lots of dips and bumps to keep things fun. You can look for a bike’s limits by hammering the hills and pinging through the turns on the drops, or you can take things more steadily if you prefer. There are some great views from the top too.

- What is an adventure and gravel bike?

Whyte Bikes will be bringing the Gisburn, pictured above. It’s a versatile bike that is inspired by the company’s mountain bike, with more relaxed geometry that makes it ideal for adventure riding. It’s packed with cool details that make it work well in British conditions.

German brand Rose will have its lovely looking Team CDX Cross 4400 gravel bike on display and ready to be ridden. It’s light, very light in fact, the carbon frame comes in at just 1,040g. It’ll take a 42mm tyre and there are disc brakes and a clean 1x11 SRAM drivetrain.

Marin’s Gestalt is a relatively new model for the US firm with a mountain bike background playing dividends in its foray into the burgeoning adventure bike market. You can read our review of it here.
