Video: Peter Sagan's world of… colour

Sagan picks his five fave colours in ad spot for team sponsor – do they seem rather familiar?

Peter Sagan appears in a new video for one of his Bora-Hansgrohe team’s title sponsors in which he outlines his favourite colours in his own inimitable fashion – with the help of an apple, a gold medal, some black spaghetti and a lobster.

The quirky spot is for the Bora Pure cooktop and extractor, the latter of which can be customised using one of five colours – green, gold, black, red and blue.

That’s the order they appear in the video and – substituting yellow for gold – is also the order they appear, from bottom to top, on the rainbow jersey that Sagan has won three times and which he is wearing at the start of the video.

That’s likely to be something more than coincidence, though it’s unclear whether gold appearing instead of yellow is due to aesthetic or legal issues – there doesn’t seem to be anything in the UCI’s documentation about its protected marks that bars the colours from being used in isolation.
