Accessible Audaxes from London, both easy access by car, train, tube or cycles and accessible to all types of riders (GPX & Routesheet supplied). May be a good test ride for anyone doing Ride London with 3 main climbs and some fast flat sections..
The 200km event has 3 longer climbs and a few lumps, whilst the 100km event has 2 longer climbs and its own lumps on the way back after leaving the longer route just after Wendover Woods, at around 50km.
The long route passes several locations from the Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang film, plus the National Shooting Centre for some audible 'Bang, Bang'. The shorter route, however, heads home past the Roald Dahl Museum at Great Missenden (Dahl wrote the screenplay to the film, coincidentally).
The start and finish venue is at Wealdstone FC's ground at Grosvenor Vale in Ruislip, Ruislip Social Club is also located there. Some simple food at the start and finish is included in the £9 entry price and the bar will be open at the finish!
Non Audax UK members are required to pay a £2 temporary membership fee for the day, which includes insurance.
I think we should raise the question and promote awareness of the irrefutable link between working at Green Oil and being a total, rampant bellend...
It's difficult to try and have the moral high ground when your choices are Chinese produced product sold by China vs Chinese produced product sold...
Enjoyed the humour in your write up. Stunning paint job too. Loved the glasses will provide" "a better view in the peloton." Cheers!
Glad to see the BBC is still doing a bang-up job of alienating left and right in equal measure. Keep up the good work, Auntie.
I don't think that entirely fair. A whole new range of gearing options and an entirely new model that shares virtually nothing with the others....
I didn't realise X / Twitter still had 37 users!
You put a (not really a) hashtag on it - that automatically qualifies it as a rant.
In what?
Turns out they prefer video evidence to prove beyond doubt a car is parked on zig zag lines; a still won't do...
Mix of good and not so there. Overtaking stuff all sounds sensible (if people remember...), not sure on the compulsory PPE....
