Satellites and stars

Unsure of your northern ways.
South of the hemisphere, the two Poynter brothers are our brightest view of stars; those two bright stars poynt (lol) at the southern cross and are south.
Anything brighter is a satellite; moon is obvious, man made orbiters and planets can get bright.
Recon reads that China lost control of their 8?6? Tonne space station. Predicted collision unknown. Guesses are anywhere from Australia, Asia, middle east....... A couple of hundred km fragment impact zone expected. Chances of an individual being injured is less than 1 millionth his/her chance of winning lotto.
My point being; is that the bright 1 near the moon at the moment from view point of Adelaide? Looks like it's just floating there although if that it, it is moving and descending fast. Expecting impact near end of month; extremely toxic.

You'd better don your tin hat, just to be safe.

And build the nuclear bunker...

6-8 tonnes is no way near enough to be a threat. When it enters the atmosphere, it'll be travelling at hypersonic speeds and tumbling whilst it does so.

The pressure and heating from aerodynamic forces will destroy the majority of the vehicle anyway. Lots of small parts will end up spread around, but nothing of any significant threat.
