Exactly. No way for purists.
so what happens then ? the dauphine team thats riding now rolls into the TDS ?
Yeah. That's the way it goes.
We had to decide whether we prefer the Dauphine or the TdS. Another possibility was to create a combined squad with riders of both races.
So if you chose a team only consisting of Dauphine riders, you can't score at TdS.
That's why my suggestion for next year is at least for us purists to be allowed to start with 2 teams: 1 for the Dauphine and 1 for the TdS.
Yes, that would be good. Or at least be able to transfer riders in for the remaining stages of the TdS once the Dauphine has finished.
ah , feck , i hadnt realised that and have chosen a team of 9 dauphine riders .. so basically theres no way i can take part in the TDS ?
Bugger. My only hope then is that a couple of my riders pull out of the Dauphine before it finishes and decide to ride the TdS instead.
I've got 9 riders riding the Dauphine. I was hoping we'd get the chance to make a new selection for the TdS. Are we not able to do this?
No. Two stages of the races overlap.
I went for a mainly Dauphine squad (as they were all confirmed starters) with Cancellara and Frank Schleck from the 'probable' TdS lineup.
Picking a TdS purists squad is just too hard a week before anyone even knows who's riding. The only reason I picked a mixed squad rather than totally CdD was because Cancellara is a fair shoe-in to get the Prologue win and hold the leaders Jersey for a few days at least.
