Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories

Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...

I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

Managed to average 52 mph over the past 6 days straight on my fave segment but a measley 47 today. My coach says I'm over-training.

I read on that fountain of truth and accuracy Facebook that it was a McDonalds near an army base that started this. The story goes that soldiers weren't allowed out of their cars off base (on their way to/from home, presumably).

The plucky franchisee created a hole in the side and the rest is drivers happily queuing for 10 minutes, but losing their minds after 10 seconds behind cyclists.

Looks like a taxi driver ( silver car ) is pulling into the taxi rank bedside the Spar resulting in the other swerving rather than stopping.

The story is pretty much true according to Maccies themselves, soldiers were not allowed to go into restaurants in uniform so the drive-through was adopted to serve them. What's surprising is that the first drive-through restaurant in America appeared in 1947 but it took McD's until 1975 to emulate it.

Why does the article say the car appeared to mount the pavement ? What do they think the car is doing, floating? Clearly it was also driving itself as the mention of a driver is completely absent again.

Driver crashes car into supermarket on estate in Abingdon

A concrete pillar was damaged at the store off Peachcroft Road, which was evacuated until the building could be declared safe.

It is understood the incident may have occurred after the driver put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake.

Another shopper said on Facebook that the elderly couple involved in the crash came into the supermarket afterwards and did not appear to be injured.

4x4 truck ploughed through the barriers at a Norfolk level crossing moments before a train was due to pass.

Parents of girl, 15, killed in crash hit out at 'appalling' police investigation

Katelyn Dawson died after a BMW ploughed into a bus stop

Yesterday (April 11), following a seven-day inquest, senior coroner Martin Fleming concluded that it was 'more likely than not' that the BMW driver, Richard Brooke, had suffered a temporarily loss of consciousness due to fainting at the wheel. He said he had felt unwell and had 'tunnel vision' and could not remember what happened after that.

No criminal charges were brought against Mr Brooke following the incident. But Katelyn's parents Angela and Colin Dawson said the investigation after the crash was 'appalling' and that police had 'failed' their daughter.
