Here it is. Garstang Road Rage nutter or

Roundabouts? Where we're going we don't need roundabouts

https://upride.cc/incident/ve17wzv_insignia_nearheadonroadrage/

And a 2022 close pass, by a vehicle which has now been without MOT for almost 6 months...of course, with driving like this, the vehicle could have been written off

The last two show that even if you commit the same offence at the same place 2 days apart, Lancashire Constabulary still lets you off with them. The first one is almost the same place- a real offence hotspot.

Serious Question - how does that 2 week approval delay relate to submitting the clip to police, or is UpRide not part of that process?

(I'm thinking it's the 3rd party portal which some forces use.)

UpRide approval seems to be too slow to risk wasting part of your 2 weeks waiting. I get mine in to the police ASAP, although Lancashire ignores them all anyway- it's all part of building up the case. I'm presently waiting for a couple from over a week ago, and it was longer over the holiday period. This is not a complaint about UpRide- it's a useful service (if it can survive excess demand!), but not an emergency service. I can't see the police using it officially!

Your videos need to be within the car and showing a passenger without a seatbelt making shit up for instagram to get their attention.

Well, certainly handheld mobile use while driving doesn't do it. This is Porsche Cayenne KD10 WER driver on the phone at exactly 12:36:58

Very amusing! Lancashire Constabulary prophesies dire consequences for people using mobiles, not wearing a seatbelt etc with the words Anyone caught not wearing a seat belt will be reported for further action etc. etc- it's just that they don't mean any of it, and will put a lot of effort into ignoring excellent evidence of offences. It's difficult to know what they'll do about Sunak- if they don't fine him, then it will be more difficult to act against the peasants, but it's doubtful if they have fined anyone for this offence in, say, the past 5 years unless they make a big public fuss about refusing to wear one repeatedly. I am confident in my prophesy that the lady toff driving the Porsche will not be troubled by Lancashire Constabulary- and that's a potential 6-point penalty. Video coming eventually on UpRide- the ability to freeze-frame is not perfect, but not bad!

.

The quality of the vids. is simply astonishing.

.

As indeed, in a rather different way, is the driving that they show.

.

What's in the Garstang air that make these people drive so dangerously?

I've put a few up recently and some took over a week while one was up before I'd finished the 2nd one.

Could you put the links up so we can have a look?

Thanks. Had a quick look. The peugeot I would'nt have reported. The coaches are ridiculous. I reckon even in Gloucestershire they would have got some sort of response.

Help please! The practicalities of using UpRide

I have discovered that the links of this form:

https://upride.cc/incident/pk68zfl_32tonnetipper_redlightcross/

link to a page which for me shows the details of the offence with date, my comments, vehicle registration etc. If I try to extract the link by clicking on the incident snapshot on the My Account page and then copying the page address, I get only the video but not the details. So my question to anyone else is: does using the link above allow you to see the incident details, or only the video? It appears that I will need to maintain a Word file with all the incidents in the format above

The link worked perfectly for me.

Here's a red light jumper that passed me as I stopped, because everyone knows only cyclists jump red lights.

If you think the description reads like a police report, you're right. I just copy pasted some of it.

So what did The The Filth do? In Lancashire they would simply not respond- a year ago they would have said that you can't actually see the red light.

No idea as they don't update you on the outcome unless you need to attend court. When asked they have told me they act on the vast majority of my reports with a few going to court. The two incidents where I have learnt the outcome were not that serious so I assume this is correct as most of my reports are worse and they have encouraged me to keep reporting but who knows?

Another tranche of UpRide links placed here in a convenient place, to show what it's like living in an area where the police have largely abandoned traffic policing, and completely where offences are against cyclists. This lot are pretty old

https://upride.cc/incident/pk68zfl_32tonnetipper_redlightcross/

I'm afraid this one is a 150 MB file despite being HEVC compressed

https://upride.cc/incident/ya67hmu_fortonglass_closepass/

This is a not-very-bad close-pass where Lancashire Constabulary tried to cover-up the fact that the offending van had no MOT, by claiming that it did. It obviously didn't, so LC blocked my email address and refused to correspond on the matter.

Although it can take a while to have the videos approved by the site, they're very useful when they're on, especially as you can find them precisely on the map. They're still encouraging people to upload, but I can't see how they can cope with demand around the world. It looks like they're trying hard to keep motorists' videos out, which is another good feature. You don't seem to be able to edit entries if, to pose an unlikely occurrence, the police were later to pay any attention to the offence.

It's never time for an ebike- barring serious injury courtesy of Sainsbury's or a few more years! However, this is interesting: my UpRide videos were only approved at 6am UK time this morning. The Sainsbury's one has already been 'withdrawn' and is no longer visible. Is this pressure from Sainsbury's?

Sorry, hold that last paranoid post! It's just a little 'eye' icon which takes an incident offline- I must have clicked it by accident

Was wondering about the last one.

"barring serious injury courtesy of Sainsbury's"

Driver should be taken off the road for that.

There's the odd short, steep climb but nothing of any length.

I have a 1 mile uphill drag on the way home but probably flat to you !

And, looking at the times (GMT), I'm on my way to Garstang in Bloom with a large sack containing spade, fork, brush, loppers etc!

Blimey, that's some bad driving from 'professionals' who should know better. Particularly the last one, what a stupid place to pass.

It does take a while for videos to appear. The Upride website is provided by the makers of the Cycliq cameras, so I'm pretty sure some of this is them making sure any footage from cycliq cameras hasn't been made to look bad (compressed / cropped etc.).

But as you say, this does mean the quality is quite good. The mapping feature is a good way to build a picture of where the trouble spots are, or a least it would be if there were more people uploading videos. At the moment, it just seems to indicate locations where people are cycling with cameras and uploading to Upride! Although I'm not the only contributor in my town and it looks like there's someone else uploading near to Garstang too.
