A 16-year-old cyclist fell unconscious after being hit by the driver of a vehicle and riding home.
The female driver collided with the teenager and she apparently spoke to the boy before driving off.
The boy then rode home, where he fell unconscious before being taken to hospital.
The teen had broken his collar bone in the incident, and police are now appealing for the driver who left the scene to come forward.
The collision occurred in Baldock Way, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire behind the Mace convenience store, at around 3.20pm on Friday 27 August.
PC Tristan Webb, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “We have carried out CCTV enquiries and spoken to witnesses who were in the area at the time.
"We believe the vehicle involved was a grey Nissan Juke, being driven by a woman with blonde hair.
“So far we have been unable to trace the driver and are appealing for her to get in touch with us.
“We would also like to hear from anyone else who may have seen what happened, captured dash cam footage of the incident or events prior to it, or has any other information which could assist us.”

If she spoke with her victim and obviously knew that she was involved in a collision, why didn't she leave her insurance details with him (and also report it to her insurance/police)? I don't understand why this kind of hit and run is treated so casually.
Don't you remember Failing Grayling dooring that cyclist, getting any form of responce to someone being in a violent collision and everything is alright, and this was a teenager, any coherent communication is difficult.
I hope the lad is alright.
I wonder why this "otherwise law abiding" motorist didn't fulfill their legal obligation and report the collision to the police within 24 hours?
You only have to report an accident if someone was seriously injured. If she believes that there wasn't any serious injuries, she would believe that she doesn't need to. I don't think this is a typical hit and run from how it reads
No, I believe you also need to report if you didn't exchange details
I agree that much, there may well not be any malice per se (apart from knocking someone off their bike that is)

She knocked him off, asked if he was okay and he (nothing having kicked in yet) probably said yes, fine, so she thanked the Gods of Motoring (Jeremy, I think their chief is called) and went on her way.
Only when the adrenaline wore off did his body start to fail.
Anecdote: a friend of mine crashed his car into a tree (swerving to avoid a rabbit). Got out, spoke to the paramedics, walked around a bit. Then collapsed and was in a coma for six weeks having suffered life changing brain injuries.

Years ago I was temping at Cambridge City Council, and a guy towing an antique tractor tried and failed to make it through one of the rising bollards. It caught on the trailer, the car shuddered to a halt, and the tractor rear ended the car. The guy got out and wandered around the back of the car, bemused. We could see this on CCTV, and found it all rather amusing. When it transpired that he later collapsed and died, it suddenly seemed a lot less funny.
