Four high-end Storck bicycles stolen in Birmingham

Four Storck road bikes stolen in Birmingham following the Cycle Show

The 2015 Cycle Show ended on a sour note for German high-end bicycle brand Storck, as four display bikes were stolen at the end of the weekend from a car parked in the Holiday Inn Express at the Birmingham NEC.

Four bikes were stolen and each is a brand new, pre-production sample, so they’re pretty distinctive.

“We're keen to get them all back, but understandably the Aero2 is the most distinctive (and expensive) and the one we have the most chance of finding,” says Storck.

Here are the four bikes:

  • Aernario comp with Ultegra 6800
  • Aernario pro with Dura Ace 9000
  • Aerfast comp with Ultegra 6800
  • Aero 2 Platinum with Dura ace Di2, Lightweight Fernweg wheels

Stolen from a car? Please don't say these were visible, like on the car roof overnight. In Birmingham!

I can understand why they would be on a car, most European hotels I have stayed at have secure parking with key card entry after 10pm so it's an easy mistake for a European visiting the UK to assume their property would be safe. I would like to know where they stayed as this is a big minus for the hotel who should have pointed out the lack of security to the Storck guys.

If only the article mentioned the hotel in the opening (bold) paragraph.... I guess we'll never know, ay? 105

I didn't say I wouldn't give it back though. My mother's in jail for handling stolen goods.

Hard to give stolen goods back?

Your mother would be ashamed of that comment.
