Crowd-sourcing at its best. Café Network – a Google Map on which cyclist-friendly cafés and accommodation, bike shops and cycling clubs are marked – has recently been updated.
Based on recommendations by cyclists, the map now features 1,775 cafes, 256 bike shops, 92 cycling clubs and 72 places to stay – very handy information when you’re planning your next ride.
The map’s pretty straightforward to use. Zoom in, scroll around and click on the various icons to bring up more detailed information.

Another update is scheduled for October 8 and John Bowerbank and Heidi Hassall, the founders of Cafe Network, are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has stayed in cyclist-friendly accommodation. If you have, you can nominate the place in question here.
There are further links on the Café Network home page which allow you to recommend cafés/tea rooms, bike shops and cycling clubs.
Mapping cycling friendly cafes and good bike shops is something we’ve always been keen in here at road.cc - in fact it something that we’ve been doing ourselves for the last couple of years with our map of cyclist friendly cafes that offer discounts to team road.cc members. Our road.cc discount map also features bikes shops that offer discounts too - on production of a team road.cc membership card.
