Video: Danny MacAskill back riding the mountains in Skye - but not on any bike you've seen him on before

Trials ace swaps pedal-power for a motor as he rides the Ben Na Caillich horseshoe with his cousin

Danny MacAskill has shot another video back home on the Isle of Skye - and some of his fans will be shocked to see that the trials bike the stunt ace is using is equipped with a motor.

It's not of the hidden variety that the UCI is so keen to stamp out, however - MacAskill and his cousin Donnie set out on trials motorbikes to ride around the Ben Na Caillich horseshoe in the island's Red Hills, and they did so in gale force winds.

According to legend, the huge cairn at the top of the 732-metre-high mountain where the pair stop to admire the view marks the burial site of a certain Saucy Mary, a Norwegian princess.

The footage was shot with a GoPro camera mounted on MacAskill's helmet, so that's his cousin you see doing the riding - and it's clear that pulling wheelies and generally getting high on adrenalin runs in the blood.

MacAskill's native island has featured in his more typical pedal-powered videos, of course, most memorably in 2014's The Ridge, where he performed some jaw-dropping stunts in the Cuillin  mountains.

Later that year, tourism agency VisitScotland credited his films, alongside the country's hosting of high-profile events, with boosting cycling-related tourism - something it dubbed "the Danny MacAskill effect."
