E-bikes could get Britain back to work and cut emissions by 50%, concludes new research

As a commuting cyclist for the past five years now and the owner of an e-bike for almost two years I can safely say that you're preaching to the converted but a switch as vast as this would literally take a generation to complete.

You'd literally need an army of pro-cycling activists who were either in or around the government with the power to fundamentally change transport policy and infrastructure in favour of cycling - let's face it, it's simply not going to happen in the UK anytime soon.

Ironically beyond the gates of Leeds University, First Leeds has implemented strict social distancing measures on all their bus services which will make it even harder for commuters to travel.  Meanwhile it seems the internet is awash with cheap, good quality, reliable e-bikes - you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
