They do about 20mph around my area and if you have a headwind its quite good to be able to tuck in behind one!

I've been seeing a few people taking their 'daily exercise' on e-scooters.  Think they might have missed the point slightly, but anything that gets people out of their cars in the longer term has to be positive.

I'd go stronger than that and say its cr@ppy news for cyclists. CR isn't great, but its somewhere to buy the essentials (brake pads etc). So if the Bristol branch is going to turn into an electric scooter shop then that's one less place in the city centre where you can buy stuff like that.

Of course, that's all irrelevant until and unless we're able to reduce physical distancing and start opening public buildings again...

I did use the CR store in Birmingham for occaisional servicing as it was close to the office and they did first come first serve rather then booking weeks in advance. (and there aren't many independents nearby unfortunately). Whilst it sounds like good news for the staff, as most there are keen cyclists and mechanics, I can't see many wanting to stop on and literally be salesman for a scooter although there might still be a need for one or two for the eBromptons that Pure have started to sell.

Good news for the staff. Mixed news for cyclists - potentially more e-scooters in cycle lanes, but hopefully each oe represents one less car on the road.
