Glacier Century Ride Iceland
The circuit on Snæfellsnes peninsula, going west of Snæfellsjökull Glacier and returning back via Vatnaleið (a moderate mountain pass), is exactly 100 miles long. Threading the coastline by bike along the roads of the peninsula is therefore by default a true Century Ride.
Like with any other Century Rides, we want to attract a wide range of bicyclists to participate. For us it does not matter if you are an experienced competitive cyclist or an owner of simple bike who just wants to try on a new challenge. Of course some minimum preparation is required to make the ride a pleasant experience. But please feel welcome to participate none the less.
Glacier Century Challenge starts and ends in Grundarfjörður, a town by the peninsula's north coast. This beautiful circuit is ridden in a counter-clockwise direction. For those who rather want to take on a bit less of challenge, feel free to consider the Half Glacier Century event.
