The historic town of Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire has secured the National Elite Circuit Race Championships for the third year in a row. Scheduled for the evening of Friday 16 July, the event will see 70 riders battle it out for the title, won last year by Candi TV-Marshall’s Pasta rider Russ Downing.
The race is the centerpiece of a three-day cycling festival in the town, famous for its medieval church, Beverley Minster. The following day, Saturday 17 July, sees the Big G (Grimpeurs Des Wolds) Cyclo-Sportive on Saturday 17 July, expected to attract 500 entrants.
Then, on Sunday 18 July, 140 of the country's leading riders will take part in the 98-mile East Yorkshire Classic on Sunday 18 July, part of British Cycling’s premier calendar series, featuring 140 top-class riders.
Paul Roggeman, conference and events manager for EY Events, said: "It is remarkable to win the chance to host the Championships for a third consecutive year. Credit must be given to the working partnership between Hull Thursday Road Club and East Riding of Yorkshire Council who have greatly impressed British Cycling."
Race media chief Michael Boyle, added: "To win the right to hold this event against fierce competition from across the UK is a remarkable achievement. With over 1,000 entries expected, the weekend is worth more than £250,000 to the local tourism economy."

Lake's naming and sizing: never knowingly comprehensible. Good shoes, baffling range.
Not enough, evidently.
It could be used as a reliable comparison without any calculations.
