New clothing roundup, featuring Primal, Le Coq Sportif, Alé and Endura

We’ve been on our travels this week to the Core and Bike Place shows and we’ve seen a whole lot of new kit including plenty of clothing. Here’s our pick of the most interesting pieces.

Le Coq Sportif

France’s Le Coq Sportif have a bunch of cool-looking jerseys, this Ultra Light Jersey (£95) being designed to feel cool too.

It’s made from lightweight synthetic fabrics (just 80g/m2 and 110g/m2) that look like they’ll let plenty of air through.

The chequered design (£60) is available in three different colour options, this white version being the pick of the bunch as far as we’re concerned.

Alé

We’ve been really impressed by the performance of the Alé clothing we’ve so far reviewed and, although we’ve not yet tried them, their Classic jerseys look really neat too.

Primal Wear

Primal always have plenty of new jerseys. This Soviet-style Power Yourself design is £50...

...as is this Sustain jersey.

The Belgian jersey is priced at £50.

The Exion clothing is more technically advanced, the jersey using antibacterial SLR Ion fabric that’s designed to breathe easily.

Available in both men’s and women’s versions, the jerseys are £80 while the shorts are £130.

Overade

We’ve shown you the Overade Plixi folding helmet before but it’s a really clever design so here it is again.

It folds down to about a third of its normal size in seconds,and that could be handy for lots of people. If you’re based in London, for example, you could carry one in your bag ready to be brought out when you want to get across town on a Boris Bike.

Endura

Endura's Classics jersey is one of the garments in their new range that they've developed in conjunction with the Movistar professional team. It's one of an increasing number of windproof and waterproof jerseys you can choose from and the fabric is a thin membrane that's stretchy and very form fitting. The jersey comes with a pair of matching arm warmers in the same fabric so you can go long-sleeved if it's rotten out.

Round the back there's the normal array of pockets and the jersey also has a fold-out reflective tail that'll keep your bum a bit drier and also pick you out in car headlights.

Also coming from Endura's Movistar involvement is the Endura FS260 Pro-SL jersey, a lightweight climber's top for the sunny summer days and the big hills. It would be ideal for a training camp or a European sportive or, you never know, a long, hot UK summer. The fabric is very airy but it still packs a decent SPF so you won't get a Chris Froome skinsuit sunburn if you venture out with the mad dogs.

Endura’s Urban FlipJak reversible jacket (£99.99) is new for this year, giving you the choice of subtle black or hi-vis green (men's) or pink (women's) on the outside, depending on whether you’re on the bike or off it. Reflective print and embroidered logos are designed to add more visibility when you’re riding.

This jacket is windproof and showerproof, and it comes with Primaloft insulation to keep you warm.
