Position: Senior sales professional


Where: road.cc, Bath, UK.

We're looking for an experienced sales professional to play a key role in our rapidly growing media business.

road.cc and its staff are well respected within the cycle industry and media world. This is your opportunity to be part of this dynamic, entrepreneurial team.

You are an experienced digital sales professional ideally with experience of the cycling/outdoors market, or someone with a proven sales record in the cycling print media market and are now looking to expand your knowledge of the digital space as part of a successful organisation that continues to grow its audience and revenue.

About us

Multi-award-winning website road.cc is the UK's biggest dedicated road cycling site, reaching over 1m users every month. It was voted the best cycling website at the Cycling Media Awards in 2014.

With more and more print advertising budgets moving over to digital media, we’re growing the media sales team to chase, service new and existing business, and become a vital part of this dynamic business and website.

About You

You're an experienced sales professional with a minimum of 5 years media sales experience, preferably in the cycle, outdoors or sports industry. You're great at hunting down new business both in the UK and abroad. You can ensure advertisers are well informed on the many benefits of digital advertising.

You're a talented account manager and experienced at servicing clients with regular reports and ensuring their artwork and messages are as effective for them as possible.

You're keen to play a key role in a hardworking, enthusiastic team and you have the commercial acumen to learn how to monetise non-traditional media opportunities.

About the job

The editorial and commercial teams are both based in Bath in road.cc's centrally-located offices. This role will involve some time in the office but we're open to applicants who wish to work remotely.

road.cc's founder and first editor, nowadays to be found riding a spreadsheet. Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. He launched his first cycling website - the Cycling Plus Forum at the turn of the century. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.
