'The Cycling Reporter’ Leon McCarron has now got his 7,000-mile journey in search of unheard voices across the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia under way, and we’re delighted to bring you the first instalment of what will be a regular and v-log from the young film-maker here on road.cc.
In his first report filed for us, Leon, who hails from Northern Ireland and is a graduate of the University of Kent, Canterbury, where he studied film, talks about his planned itinerary and explains how he hopes his film-making can help give a voice to people whose stories may never otherwise be shared, and particularly those who have suffered injustice.
There’s much more on Leon’s own website, which you’ll find here, which includes his blog describing the first few weeks of his expedition, which he is undertaking on a Santos Travelmaster, the same as James Bowthorpe used on his round-the world circumnavigation last year.
Although initially Leon planned to finish his travels in Australia, as the project has evolved, he has begun thinking about extending it into South-East Asia and possibly a fully-fledged round-the-world trip, and of course we will be bringing you his regular updates here on road.cc.
