Now THAT's a Strava KOM - Paul Voss posts polka-dot winning Tour de France ride

Bora-Argon 18 rider leads mountains classification after yesterday's opener...

Paul Voss of Bora-Argon 18 was the first rider to lay claim to a jersey at this year’s Tour de France, getting into yesterday’s break and leading the race over the two categorised climbs to ensure he would be in the polka-dot jersey today.

The German is one of around three dozen riders who uploaded their data to Strava afterwards, with Voss achieving a maximum power output of 1,007 Watts and an average speed of 43.8kph.

Here’s his data, plus links below to some of the other men who shared their opening stage on the ride-sharing network, including LottoNL-Jumbo’s George Bennett who was involved in the crash in the final sprint.

Some are quite creative with their descriptions, and the word “stress” appears regularly – others just stick with the defaults.
